This track is a mix of braggadocios lyrics that celebrate my homecoming and homegoing (great book by the way!). It is an homage to the younger me who had sweet day-dreams while sippin’ on mixed Sunny-D and Milk (if you know you know). Some playful lyrics that’ll have some turning in the graves because: I am breaking their rules. A Black man riding a horse. Flexin’ my writing of course. Very proud of how this mix came out. If you have a chance, take a listen to this on some headphones. I was able to get the vocals to sit in the mix by getting better at compression and gain staging. But the other thing that really helped was some reverb tricks I learned from “Help Me Out Devvon” on YouTube, IG @helpmedevvon. ⁣⁣⁣
